Rose Young's Funeral Mass Video
Rose J. Young "Dain" passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. She was born on January 10, 1933 in Ogdensburg, Wisconsin to the late Erwin and Anna Dain of Manawa. Rose graduated in 1951 from the Manawa Little Wolf High School. She married Lyle Young on June 16, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa. They farmed for 45 years in the township of Maple Creek. They were married 56 years and were blessed with six daughters and three sons. Rose, along with Lyle and the family, managed a dairy farm, and planted and harvested many acres of cabbage and corn. Rose enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising ducks and chickens and tending to her many flowers. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling, pool, snowmobiling and the Symco Thresheree.
Rose was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Bear Creek and belonged to the Christian Mothers for many years. In 1992 she and Lyle retired and moved next door to Frank and the Josephine Young homestead. There they spent many blessed years there caring for her flowers.
Rose is survived by her six daughters, Connie (Don) Guyette of Clintonville, Cathy (Tom) Symonik of Shiocton, Sandy (Pete) Carmody of New London, Debra (Don, deceased) Drath of New London, Joan (Randy) Bessette of Bear Creek, and Marge (Jim) Carmody of Clintonville. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Joann Davids; two sisters-in-law, Lila Young and Mary Young; as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Anna; in-laws, Frank and Josephine Young; three sons, Frank, Bill, and Chipper (Lyle Junior); three grandsons, Johnathon, Dustin, and Danny; her brothers, Frank Dain, Aryln Dain, Mayford Dain, Jack Dain; and her sisters, Marie Richter and Alice Nelson.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Rose will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek, with Fr. Simon Minyati officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
