In Loving Memory of Sandra Lea Drath.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Sandra Lea Drath, who left us unexpectedly on the morning of March 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Sandra was born on March 7, 1959, to Homer and Dorothy Belland in Laona, WI. To say Sandra was one of a kind is an understatement. She was a true original—someone whose presence was unforgettable. Whether you knew her for years or had just met her once, Sandra made an impression. She had a special knack for saying exactly what was on her mind, always ready to "freak people out," as she loved to put it. The life of the party, the center of attention, and always a source of laughter, Sandra's larger-than-life personality was matched only by her huge heart. She would have given away her last dollar or gone home naked if someone needed her shirt. Her love was fierce and unconditional, and she never hesitated to show it. Sandra was an incredibly talented crafter and painter. Over the years, she created many cherished gifts, and she dedicated countless hours to making art and decorations for benefits and fundraisers, finding great joy in supporting others. Sandra was lovingly known as Mom, Nana, Sister, Aunt (Sassy), and Friend to so many. Her presence was a gift, and she will never be forgotten.
Sandra is survived by her children, son Ian Brace (special friend Mary) and daughter Desiree Bender (husband Scott), and her two grandchildren, Jack and Gaven Brace. She also leaves behind her brothers Walter (wife Cindy), Bill (wife Sharon), and Bobby (wife Debby), and sisters Mary (husband Pat), Rhonda, and Kathy (husband Jim), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Dorothy Belland; brothers David and Dick; sister Susan; nephews Scott and Timmy, and niece Stephanie.
A celebration of Sandra's life will take place at a later date. Details will be shared by the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Sandra's memorial fund. For more information, please email: sandrasmemorialfund@gmail.com.
A Message from the Family: Mom & Nana, We are devastated, and the shock is still settling in. This loss is unimaginable, and it will hurt for a long time. We don't know how to move forward without you. You've always been there for us, and now the light you brought to every room is gone. We will forever cherish the moments spent playing cards, hanging out on the porch, and all the little things that made you who you were. Your smile, your laugh, and the warmth you gave us will remain etched in our hearts forever. Life won't be the same without you, but we will carry your love with us always. We love you, and we miss you more than words can say. With love, Ian, Des, Jack & Gaven
