Obituary

Seth Michael Borchardt, 37, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by family on May 26, 2026.

Seth was born in Neenah, Wisconsin, on August 22, 1988, to Cynthia Cruz and John Borchardt. He graduated from Shiocton High School and proudly served in the United States military. Throughout his life, he worked in a variety of fields and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.

He had a great appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time in the simplicity of nature. Always eager to learn something new, he explored many interests throughout his life, including guitar, drums, and knife throwing. He was also a talented craftsman and firearms enthusiast who took great pride in building many of his own firearms. Music was his therapy and one of his greatest passions, and a source of comfort throughout his life. His cat, Zeus, was a cherished companion and faithful friend. Known for his intelligence, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor, he could always make people laugh and never seemed to be at a loss for something clever to say. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends. He was the kind of person who didn’t care what the plans were, as long as he was with the people he loved. He will be remembered for his handsome smile, generous heart, and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Seth is survived by his father, John (Tracy) Borchardt; his mother, Cynthia Cruz; siblings, David (Lily) Chmeilewski, Raven (Brent) Berkholtz; bonus siblings, Tanisha, Brianna, and Bryce Handrich. He is further survived by his paternal grandmother, Betty Smith; maternal grandfather, Raymond Cruz Sr., nieces and nephews, Dakota, Delilah, Dawson, Wren, Zachary, Devin, Skylar; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Seth is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Borchardt; maternal grandmother, Linda Cruz; bonus grandfather, Robert Smith; and his uncle, Michael Borchardt.

Though God gave us such a short time with you, we will forever cherish the memories made and the love we shared.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hatten Park in New London, Wisconsin (801 Werner –Allen Blvd. Pavilion 2) on Seth’s Birthday, August 22, 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m.
