Sharon's Funeral Service Video
Sharon Dawn Fuerstenau, age 85, was welcomed into her loving Saviors' arms in heaven peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was born on March 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Vernon and Esther (Hielsberg) Shaw. She became a child of God shortly after her birth through Holy Baptism and was confirmed in her faith as a youth at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI. Following high school, she worked at the Kenosha Public Library.
Sharon was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ronald A. Fuerstenau, on June 13, 1959, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI. After many years of being a wonderful mother and homemaker for her family, later in life, she worked for over 20 years at Lucas-Milhaupt in Cudahy, WI. Shortly thereafter, she and Ron moved to Greenville, WI, where they lived out their retirement years close to family. She cherished her time visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren every chance she got. She also spent her time painting, doing crossword puzzles and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was a faithful, selfless Christian woman who loved her Lord and was a shining example to her children and others. Her love and care for her loved ones will be greatly missed by the entire family.
Sharon is survived by a sister, Muriel Jeffery of Kenosha, WI; her children, Dawn Schaenzer of Hubertus, WI, Charles (Jennifer) Fuerstenau of Greenville, WI, Brian Fuerstenau of Columbus, OH, Laura (Thomas) Mielke of Appleton, WI, and Rachel (Aaron) Heckmann of Morgan Hill, CA; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Steven Schaenzer, and her husband.
The Celebration of Life service for Sharon will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Greenville, WI with the Rev. Philip Koelpin officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, in Kenosha, WI.
