Shirley A. Philippon, 76, of New London, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the care of ThedaCare Regional Medical Center and ThedaCare Hospice in Neenah, WI. She was born on January 29, 1947, in New London, Wisconsin, to the late Lester and Mary (Latza) Fields. On May 18, 1968 she was joined in marriage to the late Gaetan Philippon. They made their home in New London, WI; raising four sons. Shirley's main priority was raising her sons and enjoying her grandchildren. She held numerous jobs over the years: Simmons Juvenile Products Company (New London), Edge of Town Bar & Grill (Manawa), Sturm Foods (Manawa), and Woldt Cheese (New London). She is remembered for her strong devotion to faith and fierce loyalty to her family. She was a faithful member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Shirley is survived by four sons: Gaetan (Kris) Philippon Jr. of Appleton, WI, Tim (Jennifer) Philippon of Oshkosh, WI, Chris (Jennifer) Philippon of Winneconne, WI and Ryan (Carrie) Philippon of Surprise, AZ; ten grandchildren: Cassandra (Sam Hintz), Andrew (Erica), Victoria, Olivia, Gabrielle, Gavin, Brianna, Kylie, Mason and Jonathan; great-grandchildren Benjamin and Evelyn; and a sister Nancy (Robert) Besaw. She is further survived by sisters-in-law Louisette (Noel) Philippon and Anita (Gilles) Philippon of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Louisette Philippon (Gerald LeBoeuf) of Beloeil, Quebec; bothers-in-law Marcel (Brenda) Philippon of St. Catharine's, Ontario, and Jean Claude (Murielle) Philippon of Disraeli, Quebec.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Mary; her husband Gaetan; sisters Dorothy, Betty, Patricia; brother Willie, and brothers-in-law Gilles and Noel.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation for Shirley will take place from 9-11 a.m. directly at the church. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery.
The Philippon family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center and ThedaCare Hospice in Neenah, WI, specifically those who gave Shirley attentive and loving care.
