Stanley Herbert Bork, age 74 of New London passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. Stan was born on September 29, 1947 in New London to the late Herbert and Dollie (Wilcox) Bork. He graduated from Neenah High School with the class of 1965. He joined the US Air Force in 1966. Stan was united in marriage to Mary Helms on June 7, 1969. He worked at American National Can until 1993. They lived on Lake Poygan, where he was an active member of the Boom Bay Heights Improvement Association before moving to St. Germain in 1993. In 2014 Stan retired and moved back to New London. Stan enjoyed music, as well as duck hunting and fishing. He was a former member of the Lions Club and Wildlife Club of St. Germain. He raised Golden Retrievers and Fox Red Labs. Stan was the former owner of North Woods Rest Motel, Colonial House Laundromat and Rock & Roll Retrievers.
Stan is survived by his best friend and wife of 52 years, Mary; daughter, Tina (Jim) Jaeckels; grandson, Jeremy Jaeckels and granddaughter, Jesse Jaeckels; sisters, Barb Schiedermayer, Bonnie (Gary Konow) Faestel, Sharon (Chuck) Bucholtz and Lola (Berlie) Baughman and his brother, James. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his son, Anthony; his parents; mother and father-in-law, Henry and Ruth Helms; brothers-in-law, John Helms and Bert (Muriel) Helms and Steve Schiedermayer.
The Memorial Service for Stan will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Full military honors will be held at the funeral home.
Stan fought a courageous battle with cancer. The family wishes to thank the Cherry Meadows team for caring for him in his final days.
