Stanley A. Dontje, age 88 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Stanley was born January 14, 1935 to the late Henry and Eva (Airhart) Dontje in Wittermore, IA.

Stanley was united in marriage to Patricia Bohlen in 1954 in Farmington, IA. Stanley was the station manager for Erickson Oil Company in Menasha and Appleton. He then went to Banta's Publishing Company where he was a book trimmer operator for 33 years. Being a hard worker, Stanley started mowing the lawn at Bovina and St. Denis Cemetery, which he was the caretaker of for several years.

Stanley was involved with tractor pulling for many years, he loved to hunt and fish, but enjoyed nothing more than raising his five boys. He also loved his pets, horses, and his dog Bella.

Stanley is survived by his wife Patricia; children, Todd (Karen) Dontje, Daniel (Cynthia) Dontje, Timothy (Connie) Dontje, Jamie (Jessica) Dontje; daughter in law, Beverly Dontje; grandchildren, Joshua (Tina) Dontje, Jessi Dontje, Tad (Laura) Dontje, Jeremy (Angela) Dontje, Melissa (Mike) Dawes, Stephanie (Jason) Spitzmacher, DJ (Joy) Dontje, Dustin (Tara) Dontje, Samantha Dontje, Monica (Don) Dontje, Mathew and Casey Ver Voort, Dustin and Melissa Ver Voort, Justin Pomasl, Jonathan Walters; great grandchildren, Zoey Dontje, Isiaiah (Lyric) Strauch, Barrett Dontje, Landon Dontje, Levi Dontje, Mariah Dawes, Alana Dawes, Kylie Spitzmacher, Madison Latham, Bella Dontje, Jozie Dontje, Owen Dontje, Evelynn Dontje, Elliot Dontje, Myles Dontje; great grandchilren, Rastin Strauch, Fenris Strauch; sister Gerri Clark Worden.

Stanley was preceeded in death by his parents; son, Scott Dontje; brother in law William "Bill" Bohlen, and sister, Sally McGoran.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Noon at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton officiated by Rev Kevin Dembinski. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at the Bovina Cemetery, Shiocton.
