Susan M. Murphy, 72, of New London, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

Susan was born on July 24, 1953, in New London to late Jim and Pat Murphy. She grew up in Sugarbush, where she had a special relationship with each one of her siblings. She carried a lifelong pride in her Irish heritage and had a true gift for bringing people together. She enjoyed playing the ukulele with her group of friends, the 101's, and sharing that joy by playing for others throughout the New London area. She also treasured a lifelong friendship with her dear friend, Peg Hobbs, a bond that was filled with countless shared memories. Above all else, Susan's greatest joy was her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and brought her endless pride and happiness.

Susan is survived by her children, Ryan Hobbs, Cory (Lacey) Hobbs, and Tony (Lori) Hobbs; grandchildren, Taylor (Blaze), River, Ruby, Logan, Paige, Talen, and Emberly; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Aubrey, and Waylen. She is further survived by her siblings, Mary Jo, Tim (Sherry), Bob (Terri), Mark (Peggy), Dave (Jayne), Theresa (Dave), and Kate (Chuck). Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Pat; and her brother, Jim.

We will truly miss her laughter, her signature quick wit, her poems and riddles, the creative games she brought to family gatherings, and her singing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 1, 2026 at Bean City Bar & Grill in New London from 4pm-8pm.
