Terry Herter's Funeral Service Video Terry Earl Herter, age 81 of New London, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away into God loving arms surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 29, 2022.  He was born on August 14, 1940 in New London to the late Earl and Margaret (Huebner) Herter.  Terry was united in marriage to Sandra Larsen at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, where they were lifelong members.  He had many jobs in his lifetime.  He worked at Edison, Security guard at Simmons, Glass Fab, Wire Products and retired from Simmons.  Terry was a member of the New London Bowling League for many years.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and water sports.  Terry spent many years loving birds and wildlife, telling everyone what type of bird or animal it was.  He set up all the neighborhood kids and his grandkids with bird feeders and seeds so they could enjoy his passion. He was "Grandpa Terry" to all neighborhood kids, always asking them if they wanted the "special of the day" dog food.

Terry is survived by his three daughters, Peggy Herter, Pamela Arevalo and Patty (Rick) Strong; granddaughters, Amy (Chris) Ailts and Ashley (Jared) Strong; great-grandsons, Blake and Devon Ailts and Gavin Strong; siblings, Beverly Hanadel, Shirley Claussen, Dennis Herter and Charlene (Jerry) Magolski and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed Moeller, Ted Larsen and Mickey (Wilson) Magruder.  He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sandy; his parents; father and mother-in-law, Phillip (Rudy) Larsen; brother, Jeff Herter and brothers and sisters-in-law, Arden Claussen, Debbie Herter and Joseph Hanadel.

The funeral service for Terry will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.  Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Northport Ostrander Cemetery, Town of Mukwa.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.  The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Residence for all the care given to our dad over the years.
