Thomas E. (Tom) Lathrop passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 4th at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation in Seymour.

Tom was born January 1, 1935 at home in Hortonia, WI to Louis and Beryl Lathrop. He was the fifth of eight children. He graduated in 1953 from New London's Washington High School. Tom loved working outdoors including a stint at a lumber camp in Oregon and several years with Superior Electric as a lineman. Tom's love of the outdoors was shown through his years of planting timber and Christmas trees on the family farm starting when he was in high school. Tom sold Christmas trees from his tree farm for many years. Tom was recognized in 1985 by Outagamie County for Outstanding Forestry Management, something he was very proud of.

Tom married Mary Ann Jedwabny on January 9, 1965 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha, WI. They raised five children on the family farm.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann, his five children, four daughters and one son:  Melissa (Dan) Mercer, Jess Lathrop (Jim Wheeler), Laurie Bandy, Carrie Lathrop, Ted (Angel) Lathrop.

Tom is further survived by ten grandchildren: Matt Mercer, Thomas Mercer, Sam (Ellie) Wheeler, Jackson Wheeler, Connor Bandy, Morgan Bandy, Mariah (Chris) Thompson, Parker White, Anthony Lathrop, Gracelynn Lathrop and three great-grandchildren, Margaret, Norah and Walter Thompson.

Tom is further survived by one sister, Dorothy Scheller, and a sister-in-law, Maxine Lathrop.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in-law, Anton and Gertrude Jedwabny, by three sisters and three brothers: Marjorie and Tommy Tomlinson, Louis Jr., Addie Lou and Francis Mulvey, Burton, Ted, Jessie and brother-in-law, Henry Scheller.

Services for Tom will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville with Father Phil Schoofs presiding. Visitation will be from 10am-12:00pm with a memorial service to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, please plant a pine tree.

The family would like to thank the Neuro unit staff at Theda Clark Hospital, the staff of Good Shepherd, Gold Cross Ambulance and Hortonville Area EMS for their assistance.
