Tony A. Prinsen, age 74, of the Town of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday March 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a five-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Tony was born on March 10, 1949 in Racine Wisconsin, the third of eight children born to Tony and Dorothy (Steibel) Prinsen.  The family moved to New London when Tony was very young.  He attended and graduated from New London High School where he met the love of his life, Connie Clegg.  The two were married August 3, 1968.

Tony worked in manufacturing and was employed by Appleton Papers and then Curwood in New London until his retirement.  While working at Curwood Tony started his own business, Tony's Cemetery Service that he proudly operated for over 35 years.

Tony was a hardworking man whose work ethic was impeccable.  He always made time in his busy schedule for fun.  Tony enjoyed slow pitch softball, pitching for teams in New London and Wild Rose.  He passed his love of sports on to his grandchildren and was always present at their events.  He was everyone's Grandpa, affectionately known as "Papa."  Tony loved classic cars and attending car shows with his friend Pete, son in law Greg and grandson Keaton.  He was very proud of his 1969 Chevelle convertible that Greg built for him.  He loved watching Packer games with his family and friends.  Tony and Connie enjoyed many years at their cottage in Wild Rose and their winter home in Florida.  Tony treasured the many friendships made over the years.

Tony was a gentle, kind, sweet, loving and pure person to all.  His kind and loving ways will be missed forever.

Those left to cherish Tony's memory are his wife Connie, daughters, Laurie Shaw (special friend Gary Burmeister), Shannon Klatt; grandchildren Cassidy (Alex) Beausoleil, Caleigh (Lane) Hanadel, Libby Klatt (special friend Will Stenson), Keaton Klatt; great-grandson Townes Beausoleil.  Tony is further survived by his siblings; Sandy Luedtke, Sherry Prinsen, Patty (Bob) Weber, Joy Prinsen (special friend Norm Walbruck) and Penny (Brian) Siewert. In laws; Bill (Beth Clegg), Bob Clegg (special friend Mary Prahl), Don (Dorothy) Clegg and Tony's lifelong friend Pete Latza as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Dorothy; infant sister Cindy; brother Tom, son in law Greg Klatt, mother and father in law Lola and Garrett Clegg.

The Funeral Mass for Tony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London.  The visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Tony's family would like to gratefully thank Dr. David Hale, as well as the nursing staff at ThedaCare New London for their exceptional care and compassion during this very difficult time.
