Troy E. Schucknecht, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1967, to the late Henry and Nancy (Ziegenbein) Schucknecht of Hortonville. Troy graduated from Hortonville High School with the Class of ’85.

Troy was a dedicated farmer who took pride in working the land and in a life built on hard work. Since high school, he had worked on the Diestler Farm, and for the last 11 years, he also worked at Country View Farms, where he continued to live out that strong work ethic each day. He enjoyed the simple things - cutting wood, fixing things, and staying busy with his hands. He was always on the move, always finding something to do, and did everything with care. Most of all, Troy will be remembered as a happy person whose warm heart, strong work ethic, and steady presence meant so much to those who knew and loved him.

Troy leaves behind his wife, Mary Schucknecht; their son, Tommy Diestler; his brother, Tyler (Lisa) Schucknecht; his niece, Courtney; his nephew, Josh; and cousins who will hold his memory close. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nancy Schucknecht; his in-laws, Otto and Elizabeth (Betty) Diestler; his uncle, Donald (Sandy) Schucknecht; and his aunt, Betty (Lyle) Engleman.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the Dale Fire and Rescue first responders for their care and support.

A private prayer service will be held at a later date, with burial at Union Cemetery in Hortonville.

Troy, you will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered every day. You will always be in our hearts, and we will love you always.
