Vivet Phillips Funeral Service Video
Vivet Mae Phillips, age 91 of New London, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, August 25, 2025. Born in Clintonville, youngest of 2 children on May 4, 1934 to the late Emmanuel and Ella (Wede) Richter. Vivet attended and graduated from Clintonville High School with the class of 1952. On October 26, 1953, she married George Phillips in Bear Creek. George preceded her in death in 1993. Vivet was a child of The Great Depression. The lessons learned in those hard times guided her through life. She raised a big family and cherished togetherness and the riches togetherness brought her. Every child counted and was always fed by simply loving them and "putting another potato in the pot". Vivet loved to garden. Many happy memories were made there. She was very connected to her grandchildren. She had the awesome ability of remembering everybody's birthdays. Her family will always recount happy memories of corned beef dinners at Vivet's house after the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Vivet expressed her love in many ways – one she enjoyed most was through her artistic ability. She crocheted baby afghans and meticulously embroidered pillow cases as wedding gifts for her grandchildren. Later in Vivet's life, she reconnected with a dear friend. Allen Lundt re-entered her life after they both had lost their spouses and was a pillar of strength to her. The daily talks and supportive love meant so much to her. As it turned out, they both left this world to meet in heaven a month apart.
Those left to remember Vivet are her children, Lee (Lorraine) Phillips, William (Joan) Phillips, Ronald (Darla) Phillips, Loretta (Kelly) Wildenberg, Robert (Tanya) Phillips, and Lisa Schreiber; along with her grandchildren, Tabitha, Dan, Steven, Danny, Mark, Brian, Kara, Jamie, Anna, William, Tracy, Cody, Jason, Heather, Mitchel, Gabe, Ashley, Emily, Dray, Cole and Amber; seventeen great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to her parents and her husband, George, Vivet was preceded in death by her son, Douglas; her daughter, Ella; granddaughter, Kimberly; brother, Allen Richter and her companion, Allen Lundt.
The Funeral Service for Vivet will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Pastor Tom Theama officiating. The visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
A special thank you to Pastor Tom Theama for his comfort and care he brought to Vivet, when it meant the most.
