Vonnie's Funeral Service Video
Vonnie Hoewisch-Butt (1956–2025) Vonnie Hoewisch-Butt, a beloved grandmother, mother, sister, wife, friend, and devoted servant of God, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at the age of 69. Vonnie's life was defined by her unwavering Christian faith. She lived her beliefs each day, setting an inspiring example of love, kindness, humility, and devotion to God. Her faith was not simply a part of her life—it guided every action, every word, and every relationship. A gifted musician, Vonnie served as her church's organist for an extraordinary 53 years, beginning at the age of 12. Through her music, she shared her love of God with generations, enriching countless worship services with her talent, dedication, and heartfelt service. Her love for music shone especially bright during the Christmas season, when she spread joy to family, friends, and her congregation through beautiful performances, lovingly crafted holiday treats, and meticulously arranged decorations that transformed her home into a festive wonderland. Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Hoewisch and Lois Hoewisch (Tews). She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Butt, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage and 32 beautiful years together—years filled with faith, partnership, and deep devotion. She is also survived by her cherished siblings, Kathy Culbertson (Dean) and Dean Hoewisch (Donna), who remained close to her heart throughout her life. Her greatest joy was her family. Vonnie is survived by her loving children: Kimberly Ott (Kevin), Jeremy Maass (Heather), Troy Maass, Tori Maass, and Jacob Maass (Brittnie). She adored her grandchildren—Matt Ott (Stefanie), Nick, Brianna Terry (Quintin), Anna, Tay, Corryn, Liam, Mia, Quintin, and Lainey—each one holding a special place in her heart. She was also blessed to welcome her great-granddaughter, Emersyn, into the world, and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of her second great-granddaughter. Vonnie's heart overflowed with love for her family and for the beauty of God's creation. She found peace and happiness in tending her gardens, surrounding herself with flowers, and soaking in the warmth of the sunshine. Vonnie's life was one of faith, service, creativity, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those she touched.
