William Kenneth
Samson Jr.
September 20, 1966 – March 18, 2024
William Kenneth Samson Jr, age 57 of New London passed away unexpectedly with his family at his side on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bill was born on September 20, 1966 in New London, Wisconsin. After high school he enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard based in Clintonville, Wisconsin and received his initial training at Fort Dix in New Jersey. After his time in the service he worked and resided in New London and was an over the road semi-truck driver for most of his life. Bill was very proud and welcomed the challenge when he became the owner/operator for Samson Transportation LLC. He loved being his own boss and delivering loads all over the country (even during those covid years). He married Connie Cornelius on March 19, 2010. Bill Jr loved his family very much and we all loved him and will miss him forever. We will all miss his witty, joking manner and that smirky grin that was often on his face. In his spare time he could often be found in his garage or with his dad (in his garage) working on classic old cars. Many others will remember his willingness to help anyone.
Bill is survived by his wife Connie; his parents William Sr and Monica Samson; his sister Darleen (Carl) Kamke; his children, Amanda (Jacob) Sadowski, Amy (Darrin) Patrick, Alicia (Edward) Stemwedel, Adam Samson and Michael Tischauser III.
He is further survived by his grandchildren Alena, Ava, Mia, Jacob Jr, Azlynn, Zayiel, Zion, Brystan, Darrin Jr, Dariana, Amaurah and Aveylah; his nephew, Tyler; his mother and father in law Daniel & Elizabeth Cornelius; his sister and brother in laws Danielle (Paul) Jansen and Paul (Julia) Cornelius as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no funeral service at Bill's request but the family will host A Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 11am – 2pm at Emanuel Lutheran Church commons in New London, Wisconsin.
The Trucker's Last Ride
He traveled the roads
In years gone past
A life he chose and
Hoped it would last.
Driving all night
From state to state
Trying to get home
And arriving so late.
He parked his truck now
His engine has stopped
And those who love him
Their hearts have dropped.
He traveled the country
With a smile of great pride
Now he drives the streets of Heaven
On the truckers last ride.
