Nordell Young's Funeral Mass Video Nordell Thomas Young, age 86 of Appleton, passed away on November 18, 2021 at Brewster Village Nursing Home. Nordell was born on December 16, 1934, the son of Peter and Mildred (Bricco) Young in the Township of Maple Creek .
Nordell grew up on a farm and attended school in Shiocton. He served in the US Army National Guard from 1958-1961. Nordell was united in marriage to Arlene Patricia Kimball on October 17, 1959 in Laona, Wisconsin. Nordell always took great pride and enjoyment in all his hard work in farming and building. He enjoyed fishing, logging, gardening, telling jokes, singing, and playing his harmonica.
Nordell is survived by his children Jane (Keith) Young of Appleton; Nordell Young Jr. (Tracey) of Eau Claire; Peter (Michelle) Young of Suamico; Susan (Randy) Pepowski of Benton, KS; and Michael Young of Weyauwega. He is further survived by his sisters Gladys Zietkowski of Palmer, MA and Edna (Joe) Janowski of Manitowoc; brother-in-law's Duncan McRae, Kenneth Kimball; sister-in-law's Ila (Adrian) Turgeon, Patsy Kimball, and Charlene Kimball; 10 grandchildren: Theodore (Faye) Young of Neenah, Justin (Gaylynn) Young of Alabama, Josh (Kayler) Young of Oconto; Taylor (Lovelyn Loresca) Young of Stevens Point, Alex Young and Nathan Young both of Suamico; Miranda (Matthew) Wilkinson of Oklahoma, Joseph (Ashley) Pepowski of Washington; Kaitlyn Baumann of Stevensville, Jacob Young of Weyauwega; and 12 great grandchildren Andrew & William; Jay, Andrea, & Jacob; Bennett & Evelyn; Lila Rose; Brielle Skye; Ayden & Alexander; Korben.
Nordell was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Mildred Young, his father- in-law and mother-in-law George and Violetta Kimball, his brothers Lionel Young and Robert Young, his brother-in-law's Anthony Zietkowski, George Kimball, Walter Kimball, Ernest Kimball, Delroy Kimball; sister-in-law's Clara McRae, Marilyn Shampoo, and his nephew Chuck Kimball.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village Nursing Home of Appleton for their supportive and compassionate care given to Nordell.
A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. and mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23 rd at St Pius X church in Appleton, WI. Burial will follow at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Bear Creek, WI.
