Paul Stephen Bergmann, age 43, of Greenville, went to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family, on December 24, 2018 after complications from cancer. During his battle with cancer, Paul pushed forward, without complaint, and showed strength and resilience daily. Paul was the first born to Stephen and Cheryl (Krause) Bergmann of Hortonville on September 5, 1975. He attended and was confirmed at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran School in Hortonville. He graduated from Hortonville High School in 1994. Following high school, he attended Fox Valley Technical College, where he earned a degree in Agriculture. Paul loved working on the family farm his entire life. In addition, Paul was employed at Phenco, Inc. for 17 years. Between farming and construction, Paul couldn't get enough of all the equipment. After his employment at Phenco, he worked at United Co-op (Greenville) in the agriculture department. On September 9, 2006 Paul married his loving wife, Candice and they were blessed with 2 beautiful children- Allysa and Talan.  He absolutely loved his family and he was the best, funniest, goofiest dad that any child could ask for.  Often Paul coached his kids in their sports and had a blast doing it!  To know Paul as a person, he was kind, loving, funny, had the best sense of humor, would always be there to help anyone, and his smile and laugh was infectious.  Paul had an insatiable zest for life and lit up every room that he walked into.  In his spare time, Paul enjoyed helping on the family farm and always loved weightlifting.  In 2003, Paul, along with his brothers, competed in their first Strongman Competition, which ignited a spark that lit a fire inside them; to go on to train and compete for many years to follow, and Paul gained many great friends along the way.

Paul's amazing spirit will be carried on by his wife, Candice and their children, Allysa and Talan.  In addition, his parents, Stephen and Cheryl; his brothers, Jason (Eliane) Bergmann, Luke (Tori) Bergmann and their children, Isaac and Jocelynn and his sister, Kimberlee (Andy) Derks, and their children, Lincoln and Logan; his father and mother-in-law, Gary and Cheryl Owens; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Kate Ehrfurth and their children, Madison, Nathan and Ireland, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Meeting him in heaven are his infant daughter; his grandparents, Merlyn and Marian Bergmann and Arthur and Gladys Krause; his aunt and uncle, Carol and Denny Lillge and his cousin, Jesse Krause.

The Christian Funeral for Paul will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville with Rev. Jeremy Mattek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation for Paul will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2-7 p.m. AT THE CHURCH (W7265 School Road) and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

Paul was a beautiful soul and our lives are shattered without him.  Knowing we will see him with Jesus gives us a sense of peace and comfort.
